Saturday April 22, 2023The entrance examination to the first year is common to the Institutes of Political Studies of Aix-en-Provence, Lille, Lyon, Rennes, Saint-Germain-en-Laye, Strasbourg and Toulouse. It allows you to apply at the same time to the 7 Sciences Po network.
Admission requirements
The joint competition is open to candidates with the baccalauréat (or equivalent: foreign diplomas and DAEU) 2023 and to holders of the baccalauréat (or equivalent: foreign diplomas and DAEU) 2022. A total of approximately 1100 places are offered.
Tests
The competition consists of three written tests, organised on the same day for all candidates.
- Contemporary issues (duration: 3 hours, coefficient 3, essay, one subject to be chosen among two). The 2023 themes are “Fear” and “Food”.
- History (duration: 2 hours, coefficient 3, document analysis, one subject). The analysis is guided by an instruction, the study of documents corresponds to what is practised during the written exercises of the Terminale class in the framework of the continuous assessment. Programme: The relations between powers and political models from the 1930s to the present day. Political, social and cultural history of France since the 1930s.
- Modern language (duration: 1 hour, coefficient 1.5, choice between English, German, Spanish and Italian). The test includes comprehension questions and an essay.

Application procedures
Candidates apply only via the national platform Parcoursup and according to the procedures indicated on the latter, in accordance with the Code de l’éducation, in particular article D. 612-1-2 relating to the timetable of the national pre-registration procedure for access to initial training in the first cycle of higher education.
